Dad Bod Workout: How to Lose the Extra Weight Fast and Get into Shape!

Dad bod is the catch-all term for a dad who isn’t exactly svelte but also doesn’t qualify as “dad-bod-y.” It describes a guy who is essentially in OK shape but has a little bit of enjoyable pudginess to him, like we all do after a holiday season with yummy food, drinks and desserts. It’s not a bad thing! However, that doesn’t mean you should just accept your current physique. With the right workout routine and diet plan, you can lose that excess fat and get into shape very quickly. Here are some tips on how to lose the extra weight and get into shape as soon as possible.

Morning workouts are key

The dad bod is often associated with being a bit lazy, and a lot of dads may be inclined to agree with this. However, you can’t be lazy when you want to lose weight; you have to get up early to be consistent with your workouts. There are countless benefits of working out in the morning, such as being more productive during the day, being less stressed, having better relationships and being more focused in general. Working out in the morning could also be just what you need to have a positive outlook on the day and lose that dad bod more quickly. If an early morning workout isn’t your style, try to at least get in a short session before dinner. Any sort of daily exercise routine is better than nothing.

Mix weight training and cardio

The best way to lose fat and get into shape is to combine cardio with weight training. Cardio is excellent for helping you lose weight quickly, and weight training is great for toning and building muscle. A good way to combine these two is by doing cardio in the morning and then weight training in the afternoon. This will help you avoid feeling too exhausted and having a short attention span. In terms of cardio, aim for 30 minutes of fast-paced exercise (such as running, cycling, swimming, or rowing). Depending on your fitness level, you could also complete a HIIT (high-intensity interval training) workout to shed some fat very quickly.

A diet with protein and veggies

Most dads who have a dad bod have gotten there through a combination of lack of exercise and a poor diet. If you want to lose the weight quickly, you need to change your eating habits. To shed fat quickly, you will need to eat a healthy diet that is high in protein and vegetables and low in carbohydrates. Eating a diet high in protein will help you build muscle, which in turn burns more calories. A diet high in vegetables will also help you become healthier, as they are low in calories but high in fiber and nutrients. In addition, they won’t make you gain weight, like other types of food. Don’t forget the abs

Even though your main goal is to shed some extra fat, you don’t want to forget about your six-pack. You can do this by doing a few minutes of ab exercises every day. This can be done while watching TV or even during your commercial breaks while you’re watching TV! A great way to get your abs to show without having to do sit-ups or crunches is by performing a plank. A plank consists of holding yourself up on your elbows with your forearms on the ground. When doing this, make sure to keep your back flat, as you don’t want to end up with a dad gut instead of a dad bod!
