Texas NASCAR Cup: Reddick triumphs in tyre-failure-plagued race
As numerous title contenders suffered tyre failures at Texas Motor Speedway, Tyler Reddick overcame a wild NASCAR Cup race to defeat Joey Logano and claim the victory.
The race was hampered by numerous tyre failures, especially for title contenders Chase Elliott and Christopher Bell.
Elliott, who started the 500-mile race in first place in terms of points, was leading the pack when he drove into the wall at Turn 4 on lap 185.
As he sped through the infield, the right-front corner caught fire, putting an end to his race and sending him to 32nd overall.
On lap 137 of the race, Joe Gibbs Racing's Bell experienced his second blown tyre of the race and crashed out at Turn 4. He finished the race in 34th place.

I won't lie; I was very concerned about the tyres, Reddick admitted. "Unfortunately, we've experienced tyre issues nearly every time we've driven fast autos.
"Just in case, I was attempting to make the most of the space I had created over Joey. We've been bitten by something every time we've had a powerful car, in other words. Just incredibly pleased to have driven this Lenovo Chevrolet to victory."
